They say:

The KJams Flanger features 2 flanger programs:

  •  EM is modeled after a late 70s Electric Mistress
  • ADA is modeled after a late 70s A/DA.

I looked at several of these 70's flangers. They differ from each other a lot more than I expected. Because of this, I took my favorite sounds from all of them, and combined them into the given programs. For example, both the A/DA and the Electric Mistress seemed unusable at higher speeds. I picked an acceptable threshold so that the speed range on the knob never gets "un-musical."

Throughout my 70's flanger exploration, I have learned what I like and don't like about the effect itself! I created the Kjams flanger to let the world hear my take on this interesting effect!

(A huge thank you to those that let me borrow their vintage flangers!)

Instructions

The 2 two programs are selected by the toggle switch.

EM is modeled on a late 70s Electric Mistress.
ADA is modeled on a late 70s A/DA.

Footswitches:

 BYPASS is a standard Bypass/Enable latching switch. It is true bypass.
 TAP sets the speed unless over-ridden by the Speed pot. Tap twice to set the speed, or just once to get the slowest speed.

Knob Controls:

 SPEED sets the speed unless over-ridden by the Tap switch. When the pedal is first turned on or when switching programs, speed will be set by the Speed pot. Speed goes from about 1/8 Hz(8 seconds) to 8 Hz (1/8 second).
 DEPTH sets the depth of the flanging effect, going from almost nothing to a deep effect.
 FDBK (Feedback) sets the amount of feedback, the more feedback, the more swoosh.
 VOLUME sets the output level, from off to about +6dB.

Other features:

 IN and OUT are standard mono, right to left.
 TAP is parallel with the built-in Tap switch. Use a normally open switch. It can also handle asystem clock, up to 5V square wave input.
 SPEED expression pedal input replaces the middle/lower control, SPEED.
 The LED turns on when the pedal is engaged. It pulses to show the modulation speed.
 The face plate is solid wood, so the grain in each piece will be unique.

Power

 Input power is standard center-negative 9VDC. Please do not use higher voltages.
 The pedal draws about 62mA.

 The pedal is designed and assembled in Holland, Michigan, USA.
